A good possibility is Eezox. This is apparently a dry film that's famous for preventing rust. Since it's dry, it can't run down or melt. It gets great review from a lot of shooters. Do a Google search...

Thanks! I have CLP, will have to look into Eezox. GEW 88 shrouds are magnets for corrosion, and once I bother to strip and clean a rifle I don't want to have to go back in there often.

I haven't played around with Eezox but I'm told that once you apply it it gets firm and coats the metal with a very rust resistant coating that won't run off.

EEZOX is supposed to be good but in a 9 month outdoor test on a rifle barrel I found it did much worse than RIG or Penn Reel Grease, not much better than oils. Try Penn Reel Grease. it's so thick it...
